Boxed up Dreams: Blank Canvas
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Blank Canvas is a short click-and-point visual novel. Follow Chess and Ash as they explore a mysterious art gallery filled with "people" and fish and learn more about the mysterious guide of the dream world, Cora.
About
This used to be a part of chapter 4 of the story but this dream world is no longer part of the cannon. This is a small test game/story I made for my original story "Boxed up Dreams" ! Even though It is no longer cannon but it's a standalone story that can be enjoyed on its own.
This game was created for a school assignment and it's my first time writing and making a game so forgive me for any glaring issues :'D
Hope you enjoy~

Really great game!!
The big win for me was the visuals (like seriously it was very pretty), next to the worldbuilding. I liked that we could interact with a lot of the paintings, and also the ghosts. I also enjoyed learning about the world that you created. I discovered in my second playthrough that there were multiple endings and a secret (?) room so that was cool, but also i couldn't find the two last stars ToT sad. Although it was short, it was a cool experience and the game talked about an interesting theme that i, as an artist, could relate to.
Anyway i'm really curious to learn more about this world!!! Like what was this cycle that Cora was talking about? What link do Cora and Ash have? What's the story of Ash? Are they becoming more "human/alive" each time Chess completes a box?
Thanks for making this game :)
PS: as a french person, the text was easy to understand so that's a plus
