Can You Forgive Me? is a short point and click visual novel where you play as "Panda" right after your best friend "Fox's" suicide and funeral. You have 1 week to "get better" before you need to go back to work.

About
CYFM is a prequel to a larger story in the works called "I'll Forgive You". It's a short game meant to explore some of the early concepts and character dynamics. "I'll Forgive You" is still very very early in development. This story is considered level 2 cannon, meaning that everything in the story is cannon until something in the main story contradicts it in which that new information takes priority.
This game was created for the 2024 Yuri and Dying Year game jams in the span of roughly 2.5 months.

HELLLOO!! The games concept looks amazing, and im not too far in..however i've encountered an issue with the "dish clean up" im able to grab all items in the living room, but none in pandas room..so i can really do nothing except for just going back to sleep. Moreover, i watched a playthrough and i didnt get the cut scene between panda and fox when fox was talking about how the place is dirty and needs clean up. i wonder if its because i accidentally clicked the door twice? nevertheless i am so interested in the story and hope these bugs get fixed soon!!

hey, i just wanna ask the problem is by the game zip file or not. so basically when i click extract all on the zip file and wait till it done but nothing happen. plz help me because i really wanna play this game so bad. my english is very bad and if this is a very dumb question, i'm sorry:(
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. That's an odd issue... I'm assuming you've tried to redownload the game? if the issue happens again, I would check if your browser has blocked the download (sometimes it thinks you may be downloading a virus or something but I usually get around it by refreshing the browser). The game is also a windows only build so it won't work if you're using a mac computer. If it's still not working, feel free to reach out by comment again! God, this game is so beautiful to look at, the presentation, the way you programmed the scenes and everything else is so professional, I love it. The writing is very appropriately morose and dour, in the way only severe depression can be. The gameplay of repeating every day until you're forced to go out only reinforces that.
Also that scene with Panda arguing with her mom was painful in a very realistic way.
I did have a few bugs while playing though, with the dialogue freezing up and not letting me continue until I exited and loaded the game. But it might've been an oldder version of the game, I don't know.
In any case, I really enjoyed this!

I keep I having issues with not being allowed to save; and with the game freezing completely randomly while playing dialogue (requiring I restart the game, which I with the fact I can't save, it's really bad). And there's also a bug that completely blacks out the screen while the game seems to still be running. I could only get up to day 3 without a bug completely breaking the game. I was really looking forward to playing this but I'm not sure I have it in me to do even more fresh restarts in hopes of not getting a bug. I would love to give it a try again if you ever put out a patch to fix it...
Hi! I'm sorry to hear about all of the bugs :(( I haven't come across such game-breaking bugs during playtesting so I'm not 100% sure what's going on but I'll do my best to fix them. Would you mind telling me how exactly the game freezes during dialogue? is anything on the screen moving still? is both clicking and pressing enter not working? Is the audio still running?
How it happens is that the dialogue comes on as normal, then suddenly stops; Nothing on the screen is moving, I cannot click not anything and pressing buttons doesn't do anything either, the audio continues to play tho.
Hmm that's odd... if you have a discord, would you be willing to send me a screenshot when it happens?(frenchtoast14) If not that's fine! I'll try to reproduce the bug and try to fix it from there. I am currently in the process of trying to fix that save and load bug you've encountered too.
I've managed to play through the entire game after the patch you put out. I haven't gotten any of the bugs I mentioned before in this version so it probably means that you did fix them. The game is really cool! The art and the story are incredible! <3
